Looking back: labour productivity in Portugal

The Portuguese national accounts show that labour productivity is stagnated, while our European peers have been able to grow.

In a recent article, we use firm-level data to better understand these developments. While indeed the overall distribution seems broadly unchanged, we unveil some interesting developments by looking at firms (i) in different sectors (ii) participating (or not) in international trade; (iii) from different generations; and (iv) of different sizes.
